Emilia - Made in Italy

Emilia by Glem Gas - One Name Two Ranges

Emilia Glem is the Australian subsidiary of Glem Gas SpA, a family-owned company. Glem has always specialised in Gas Appliances, be it for Freestanding Cookers or Ovens and Cooktops.

Emilia is a specialist brand in gas cooking appliances. Based in the city of Modena, Emilia appliances are created on a foundation of more than 50 years’ cooking expertise. The Australian company, Glem Gas Australasia Pty Ltd, is 100 per cent owned by the Italian factory which provides the benefit of full factory support and after sales service.

Originating in the city that is the birthplace of Luciano Pavarotti and home to Ferrari and Balsamic vinegar, the extensive Emilia product range has been selected to provide exceptional performance and value
.
Glem Gas has produced high quality cookers since 1959.

Glem Gas is still in the business of manufacturing cooking appliances in its own factories and today exports to Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. All Glem Gas factories have ISO 9000 Quality Accreditation.

One of the biggest decisions in purchasing an oven is whether to choose gas or electricity; the efficiency and environmental benefits of gas versus the convenience and ease of electricity.

Why choose gas?
Commonly used in commercial kitchens, gas also suits environmentally conscious households due to its clean, economical and fast heating features. Gas cookers cut cooking energy costs by half and have the added advantage of the lowest carbon dioxide emissions of any fossil fuel with only 1/3 of the greenhouse gas emissions of electricity.

Aside from the environmental benefits, gas produces a moist heat which minimises drying out and shrinkage, perfect for roasting meats. Gas also heats the oven cavity twice as fast as electricity and gas cooktops have the advantage of rapid heat response when the flame is adjusted.

Glem gas ovens achieve even heat distribution through fan assistance, eliminating cold spots and allowing baking on more than one shelf at a time.

Why choose electric?
For homes not connected to the gas supply, electric ovens provide an efficient alternative. Electric ovens are known for producing a dry heat, suitable for baking pastries and biscuits and giving a crisp result.

Glem electric ovens have the added advantage of programmability, enabling them to be switched off and on at a preset time. Most Glem electric ovens have more than one cooking function allowing heat to be applied from the top, centre or bottom. Electric cooktops have improved with faster heat up and cool down times. With their high efficiency and enhanced design features, the Glem electric ceramic cooktops and for 2011 induction cooktops are a great alternative to gas.
